Math Strategies. Lets Talk about what this entails.

The thing about the American school system, that I feel is a fault, at least for those students entering fields that may require math (and I would argue for even those who won't), that things like math just become about memorization. If I had to describe math, I would say it's more like a game (albeit not as fun as minecraft), following patterns, and solving puzzles by looking at something from another perspective, or using creativity to hammer in those problem solving skills. The STEM kids and the art kids will fight, and the STEM kids will hate to admit it, but it is the art, the creativity, and the new thinking which brings about our new thinking of math, that split in the 1600s that converted math to our everyday life, rather than being reserved for middle-class labourers to measure their steel for bowls and swords. It should be noted that this never be lost, we will always need art, or philosophy. Sure, the machine can give us crop to eat, but without our art, without our creative thinking, the ability to creatively problem solve, we would have stayed as it, humans seen before possibly even the agricultural revolution, just using blunt, tried skills to survive.

This is not an in depth guide to helping you release that spirit in your mind, kept by a monotonous thinking that is hammered by our society and schools, but just something to help you understand, that it's not all the same perspective. Math, not a boring subject, but a subject made boring.
